The Scribe may not be seeing the patient in any other clinical capacity and must not interject personal observations or impressions including, adhering to approved standards of care in compliance with CMS rules, Joint Commission standards and NCH guidelines. Scribes will report directly to a Scribe Manager.The Scribe enters patient information into the electronic medical record under the direction of a provider, follows and is present during the provider’s performance, and documents in real time the patient experience and information shared during the visit. It is your responsibility to work with diligence and mindfulness to your deadlines, without compromising chart quality. Assigned charts must be ready for the provider’s signature by the end of your shift. Hours may vary depending on the provider(s) you are matched with.
